Statik Selektah- 8 – This whole album blends together smoothly and the Statik is able to put lesser known emcees on a project with major artist is admirable. Nothing sounds forced and the beats all have that smooth throwback feel as Statik always delivers.

Tee Grizzley & Lil Durk - Bloodas – Tee Grizzley is strongly becoming one of the most anticipated artist to blow up and this project shows why. Durk holds his own on here and compliments the tracks well but Grizzley clearly shines. The beat selection is on point they all hit with that gritty hood music slap. This whole shit bangs.

Kidz in the Hall - Free Nights & Weekends – Kidz in the Hall always been dope but after their first album they never really were able to reach a cohesive feel for an entire project. They found it here, beatwise Double- O kills it with the soul with a bounce vibe he provides and Naledge finds his pocket on every track. It’s short but the track placement is perfect and it plays though well. Except for this W.C.E track I have no idea what that shit is about they should’ve left that track in the hard drive forever, its really the only skippable track on there though.

Quality Control (Migos) - Control the Streets Vol 1 – This is a mixtape and it plays just like one. Some members of the group coupled with other artist sometimes together on each track. If you’re a fan of the Migos you’re definitely gonna fuck with this, a lot of bangers on here. If these are throwaway songs from their upcoming album then that shit is gonna be crazy cause there’s a lot of Quality here.

Kxng Crooked - Good vs. Evil II: The Red Empire – Crooked muthafuckin I!! I hate when albums this dope from artist of this caliber just drop with nopromotion, no type of hype, not even a video single. Crooked spazzes on these tracks as expected and the features from Royce and Styles P are dope ass hell. I was actually surprised on how dope the beats are, sometimes his beats are just subpar and regardless on how dope he kills them they end up being forgettable. But this album is definitely one of his best projects yet. Don’t sleep on this one.

Honorable Mention
Metro Boomin x Big Sean - Double or Nothing– Thought this was going to be a real good project but it’s really lackluster for the fact that these two on their own are always something to look out for. Metro’s beats seem like throwaways and Sean isn’t wack but not really standout. Worth a listen to maybe add a track or two to your playlist
